Ready for rough weather

IP68-rated protection

The aluminium-bodied flashlight is rated IP68 for dust and water protection, helping it stay useful through rain, splashes and demanding outdoor conditions.

  • Keep the USB-C port cover fully closed before exposure to dust or moisture.
  • Wipe the flashlight dry before opening the charging port or connecting a cable.
  • The user manual advises against intentional immersion, despite the IP68 rating.
Dual power solution

Recharge first. Keep a backup.

The included 3,100 mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery supports convenient USB-C charging. If charging is unavailable, insert two non-rechargeable CR123A batteries into the supplied adapter and keep going.

  • Approximate full charge time: 150 minutes.
  • Rated input: 5 V ⎓ 2 A.
  • CR123A batteries are sold separately and produce reduced brightness.
  • Never attempt to recharge non-rechargeable CR123A cells.

Frequently asked questions

HOTO QWSDT005 FAQs

Is the HOTO Flashlight Tactics really 2,300 lumens?

Yes, but 2,300 lm applies to the brief point-illumination boost and strobe functions. The regular flashlight mode has 100, 400 and 1,500 lm steady settings.

How far does the beam reach?

HOTO rates the momentary point-illumination beam for up to 300 m. The low, medium and high steady settings are rated for approximately 70 m, 120 m and 240 m respectively.

How long does the battery last?

Rated runtime is up to 15 hours at 100 lm, 4.5 hours at 400 lm and 3 hours at 1,500 lm. Actual runtime varies with conditions and battery health.

What is the verified battery capacity?

The official product specification and manual list a 3,100 mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery for model QWSDT005.

How long does charging take?

A full charge takes approximately 150 minutes using a compatible USB Type-C cable and 5 V power source.

Can I use disposable batteries?

Yes. The supplied adapter accepts two non-rechargeable CR123A batteries, which are sold separately. Brightness is reduced when CR123A cells are used, and they must never be recharged.

Is the flashlight waterproof?

It carries an IP68 dust- and water-protection rating. Close the charging-port cover before exposure, dry it before charging and follow the manual’s instruction not to intentionally immerse it.

How do the two switches work?

The side button controls the regular low, medium and high modes. A light hold on the tail switch activates momentary boost; a full hold activates momentary strobe. Releasing the tail switch turns that function off.

Can I keep the 2,300 lm boost on continuously?

No. Point illumination is limited to approximately 30 seconds per activation. After three consecutive activations, allow the flashlight body to rest for at least two minutes.

What comes in the box?

The verified package contents are one HOTO Flashlight Tactics, one USB Type-C cable and one adapter for two non-rechargeable CR123A batteries. CR123A cells are not included.
